Photocopying service: Ultra modern Photocopying facilities are made available. Working Hours: 12 NOON to 8 PM 

Internet facility: Internet facility is open for the Faculty, Residents and Students of NIMS only for information searches, with priority for studies and research. {Timings: 9 am to 1 am} 

HOLIDAYS: Reference section of the Library will remain closed on:

Sankranthi, Republic day, Mahasivaratri, Holi, Ugadi, Sri rama navami, Good Friday, Independence day, Ramzan, Vijaya Dasami, Gandhi jayanthi, Deepavali, Bakrid and Christmas day.

Integrated Library Operations with TLSS 

An Unlimited Multi User Library Automation Software with Web OPAC (TLSS) was procured in the year 2008. This library application software provided facilities for acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, serial control and OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) to provide quick search of books to the users. Library has started using Bar-code technology.  The library prepared a database for all the books / Back volumes, loose journals and other reading materials by entering the data and was made available for access the data present in the library for the benefit of users. 

Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC)

Library has replaced its card catalogue with Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) terminals (2 numbers) for users near the entrance of the Library.  The Library database consists of all the books, back volumes of periodicals, current journals and theses & dissertations.Users can search the database by Author, Title, Classification number, Subject, Journal title, Accession Number, Phrase/word, Boolean search to know whether a book/document is there in the Library or not, its status with reservation facility if the book is issued out.

Membership to the outsiders - Individuals and Institutions: 

NIMS library offers membership to the external individuals and institutions for their study and reference purpose on payment basis.

User Education:

The library is supporting the teaching and research needs of institute.  User education helps in extensive use of library resources and services. The library has actively participated in the orientation programs organized for new users and made presentations about library facilities, resources and services. 

Conclusion:

The library has grown enormously over decades and reasonable infrastructure to meet all its requirements.  It has computerized all its operations and has provided access to the collection through web-based Online Public Access Catalogue (webOPAC) in the library systems.  During the year 2011, it has made significant progress in several areas.  Further improvement of the quality of services, achieving higher degree of users’ satisfaction and modernization of its operations is the main aim of the library.
