Department Activity:  

Academic Courses in Physiotherapy BPT & MPT was introduced in Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences for the first time in Andhra Pradesh in the year 1996 & 2001, considering the dire dearth of qualified Physiotherapists in this part of the country. As per the World Health Organization, rehabilitation is included as a part of comprehensive health service delivery model. A large number of patient populations afflicted with disorders of joint, muscles, bones, brain, nerves and certain cardio pulmonary conditions essentially require a long term physiotherapy support. The aim of this program is to create quality human resources in this field of health care.  

Education Program Conducted by Department: 

Teaching to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy & Master of Physiotherapy students by Theory, clinically, practically, conducting the Internal Examination and guiding the Master of Physiotherapy Students for their Research & Presentations.

         Work Shop:

         Praveen Dowle participated in a youth, women, new People with Hemophilia meet on 2^nd January 2011at Amaravathi Hall of APSP battalion camp, Yousufguda, Hyd.

         J.N. Sravana Kumar has delivered a topic on Importance of cardio respirator fitness during fitness Professional workshop,Chennai, during 26yh – 27^th February 2011.

         Lakshman Prasad Gadde, have attended Pedagogic workshop at Manipal during April 2011.

         Naveen Kumar Balne have attended Pedagogic workshop at Manipal during April  2011.

         J.N. Sravana Kumar has attended Integrated taping techniques workshop organized by Fitness & Rehab forum,Chennai during 13-14 August 2011.

·    Sunith Waghray,Lecturer has delivered a lecture on  Basic Bronchial Hygiene Techniques and Advanced Bronchial Hygiene Techniques at Princess Durru Shehvar College of Physiotherapy, Hyderabad on 11-12-2011.

·    Naveen Kumar Balne, Lecturer has delivered a lecture on  Dementia at Princess Durru Shehvar College of Physiotherapy, Hyderabad on 11-12-2011.

·    Naveen Kumar Balne, Lecturer has delivered a lecture on Recents trends in Physiotherapy management of Cerebral Palsy on 31^st October 2011, organized by department of Neurosurgery, NIMS, Hyderabad
